Massachusetts Coalition for Domestic Workers Panel Discussion
BIC invites all friends and supporters of the Massachusetts Domestic Worker Bill of Rights to attend two special events this week in support of the campaign to bring domestic workers under full protection of labor laws in Massachusetts.

On Tuesday January 15, 7-8:30pm, BIC will hold its monthly domestic worker meeting at the Center, at 14 Harvard Avenue, Allston. We will be reviewing the exciting progress of the movement’s recent work and plans to support the upcoming legislative and public campaigns.

On Thursday January 17, 6-8pm, at the WGBH-radio Studios at One Guest Street, Brighton, Massachusetts domestic worker leaders will take part in panel session, “Domestic Workers:  Know the People who Care for Your Family,” that will be recorded for later broadcast on the syndicated PBS radio program, “Latino USA with Maria Hinojosa.” Be part of the live audience for the taping of this interesting panel!   Light refreshments will be served.

On Saturday January 19, at the Samba Bar & Grill, 608 Somerville Avenue, Somerville, come to attend a benefit lunch, from 12:30-2:30 pm, to support a photo project highlighting the dignity of our state’s domestic workers.  The women portrayed are from the Brazilian Immigrant Center, the Dominican Development Center, the Vida Verde Women’s Cooperative/Brazilian Women’s Group, and Matahari-Eye of the Day.   The lunch will raise funds for this innovative photography project, by photographer Mario Quiroz, called “Caretakers of Massachusetts’ Future:  Portraits of Nannies and Domestic Workers.” A selection of Mario’s dramatic photographs will be on display.
