What We Do

Workers Rights

Fair wages, safe workplaces, and dignified treatment are fundamental rights for all workers. Yet, many immigrants face wage theft, unsafe conditions, and labor exploitation without knowing how to defend themselves. Providing access to information, legal support, and advocacy, our programs ensure that workers can stand up for their rights and demand fair treatment.

  • Know Your Rights Workshop and Clinic
Understanding labor laws is the first step to preventing workplace abuses. Through workshops and legal clinics, workers receive guidance on wage theft, discrimination, how to protect themselves and take the leadership in their work. Those in need of legal support are connected with trusted professionals for further assistance.

  • Domestic Worker Advocacy
Nannies, house cleaners, and caregivers are essential workers but often face long hours, unfair wages, and a lack of legal protections. This initiative provides education on worker rights, contract negotiations, and legal resources, ensuring that domestic workers can advocate for better conditions and fair pay.

  • Building Justice Committee
Construction and cleaning workers are frequently subjected to hazardous conditions, unpaid wages, and employer retaliation. The Building Justice Committee is a worker-led initiative that pushes for safer job sites, fair compensation, and stronger labor protections through training, organizing, and direct advocacy.

Empowering workers with knowledge and resources strengthens entire communities. When workers understand their rights and have the tools to enforce them, fair and dignified workplaces become the standard, not the exception.
